Telenor Microfinance Bank Wins Two Awards For the Second Consecutive Time

Telenor Microfinance Bank also known as Tameer Microfinance Bank has won the ‘Best Microfinance Bank’ and “Best Bank for the Unbanked” awards at the 2^nd Pakistan Banking Awards 2017. The award is for its outstanding initiatives for promotion of financial inclusion across the country. The Bank has won both the awards for the second consecutive time. The award ceremony was conducted at a local hotel in Karachi recently. Representatives of the Banking sector, regulators, financial institutions, stakeholders and media personnel were amongst the guests. The jury consisted of senior officials of Pakistan’s banking and finance Industry and corporate sector.

Telenor Microfinance Bank Wins Two Awards For the Second Consecutive Time

President & CEO of the bank, Mr. Shahid Mustafa, received the awards on behalf of Telenor Microfinance Bank.

The Bank has taken the lead in introducing innovative solutions in digital lending and payments segment. These include the introduction of more than 50,000 biometric enabled touch points with instant access to relevant and affordable financial services. its vision of ‘Empowering Societies by banking the unbanked’ is being promoted in line with the financial inclusion in the country. The bank launched Pakistan’s first branchless banking platform Easypaisa in 2009, which now has the largest presence in the country.

Pakistan banking awards play a vital role in boosting up the morale of the institutions in order to work harder. Also, acknowledging products and services of banking and financial institutions in various categories. Thus, this effort must be appreciated.
