Now You Can Limit Who Can Quote Your Threads Posts

Threads App keeps on adding new features, some of which don’t yet exist on X. According to the latest reports, the Twitter-like platform is introducing a new feature that will allow users to have more control over who can comment on their posts. The safety feature will let users restrict people from using the quote feature to comment on their posts. Like Twitter, the quote functionality on Threads allows people to quickly comment on any message. Instagram Head Adam Mosseri announced the quote restriction option today. It’s available for everyone. Moreover, it offers three options for who can quote your posts:

• Everyone on Threads
• Only people you follow
• No one

Mosseri wrote in a Threads post:

“I hope this will help keep Threads a more positive place and give people more control over their experience,”

Threads Rolls Out A New Feature For Users

It is pertinent to mention that Quote and Reply controls can be set on a per-post basis. Users can open up some posts while restricting others. However, keep in mind that the feature doesn’t prevent people from screenshotting your post and sharing it as an image. The difference here is that sharing it as a screenshot means the real person who posted doesn’t receive notifications about the post and its replies, which may be good or bad depending on the reaction to the original post.

On the other hand, X allows users to limit who can reply to their tweets but does not offer an option to limit who can quote them. Anyhow, if you want to limit who can see, comment, and quote everything you post on Threads, you can also make your account private, which lets you pick and select who can see your posts.

Currently, replying to posts is the basic way to interact with people on Threads. However, the app is also working on a direct messaging feature.
