The 16th annual iteration of Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) were conducted in Taipei (Taiwan) recently. The results have appeared to be greatly in favor of Pakistan. APICTA 2016: Pakistan Secured 3 Gold & 6 Silver Awards.
The Pakistan Software House Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) announced on Monday that Pakistan won three gold awards and six silver awards at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA) 2016 ceremony. Last year, Pakistan was able to grab 3 Golds and 1 Silver at Asia Pacific ICT Awards.

The Gold medal was won by leading young students of National University of science and Technology (NUST) which won the award for tertiary project, ‘Clinical Decision Support System for Diagnosis of Movement Disorders’. Another group of students from NUST, who also won a gold award for its Research and Development project called “Analysis of Optical Coherence Tomography Image for CDSS”.
Among the winners UBL FUNDS won Silver, Mandi Express won merit for Retail & Supply Chain, WonderTree won the Gold for Inclusion and Community and Nadia of Sheops won merit in Inclusion & Community.
This year, to represent Pakistan, a delegation of 41 people was taken to international arena set by Taipei by Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA). The team included teams who were declared winners or runners up at the P@SHA ICT Awards 2016.
APICTA provides an opportunity to network with the like-minded people as delegates from countries across the Asia-Pacific region take part in the competition.

This year the event was joined by delegates of different countries including Australia, Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Nepal.
APICTA is an international Awards Program to enhance the knowledge and hard-work of brilliant minds. This award program is conducted every year since 2001.
