Earlier in September, when Apple announced the release of iPhone 8 and X in fall of 2017 they also announced that the company will stop selling the 256GB version of the iPhone 7.

Thus leaving its customers with no other option but to buy a 32GB, 128GB iPhone 7 or the 256GB iPhone 8. Apple knows where the problem lies. And by discontinuing sale of the most popular variant of the iPhone 7, it is making a last ditch attempt to make the iPhone 8 popular before the iPhone X hits stores next month.

An analyst report stated:

“Many respondents indicated that a meaningful portion of customers are buying iPhone 7 in lieu of the new iPhone 8, given the lack of significant enhancements in the new phone.”
