India has Slowest 4G Speed Globally; Ranks Below Pakistan. When we discuss the digitization of different countries, India might be boosting the bloom of IT under the Modi’s project Digital India but it is not true when we discuss the state of 4G connection their as it stills remains a challenge for them. Previously we came to know that Pakistan performed better than India in Ookla Internet Speed Test.
Out of 122 countries, Pakistan was ranked 89th whereas India was ranked as 109th in Global Index report from Ookla. Now a report, The State of LTE, published by mobile analytics company OpenSignal places India in the last spot out of 88 countries for its 4G speed.
India again ranked below Pakistan and other countries including Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, and Algeria. However when we compare the availability of 4G connection, India performs better than other countries however we should not overlook the fact that it is heavily populated country which results in more availability of 4G connection. It is also due to availability of cheaper smartphones and feature phones along with cheap 4G plans that are provided by telecom operators.
India has Slowest 4G Speed Globally; Ranks Below Pakistan
However the above facts doesn’t justify the fact that average 4G speed in India is calculated to be 6.07 mbps, while Singapore is the country with fasted speed globally of 44.31 mbps. In Pakistan, the 4G speed is calculated to be at 13.56 mbps, while Sri Lanka offers 13.95 mbps.
Open Signal report also mentioned that the LTE speed has remained stagnant from last few year and is not increasing. Due to no increase or very little increase in LTE speed, the target of 50 mbps remains untouched.
The report said that:
“The stagnation we see in speed among the fastest LTE countries might seem concerning, but we won’t have to wait for 5G to see top-line speeds start increasing once again. There are still plenty of enhancements left in the LTE standards that operators can tap into
Well its a proud moment for Pakistan for having higher 4G speed compared to India.
