Xiaomi 15 Will Become Official In Mid-October With SD8G4

A report has been swirling since last week that Xiaomi has the exclusive first launch rights for Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. There have been a lot of anticipations regarding the SD8G4 chipset.  Recently, a new rumor surfaced online that hints at when to expect said launch. According to the leak, the first device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is tentatively scheduled to launch in mid-October. If the rumor regarding Xiaomi’s exclusivity pans out, the Xiaomi 15 series will become official in mid-October.

A lot can change between now and then as these are just anticipations. Moreover, we’re still pretty far from that moment. If we dig into the history, Xiaomi 14 was announced on October 26 last year. So, the upcoming series can enter the market in mid-October this year.

Anticipated Xiaomi 15 Specs

Xiaomi is no doubt good at delivering the latest hardware. The highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 built on a 3nm node. It is expected to deliver sizeable efficiency gains over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is already excellent at managing its power. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 reportedly reached a single-core score of around 2,700 and a multi-core score of about 10,000 on Geekbench. Moreover, its CPU sports two extra large cores clocked at 3.6 to 4 GHz hinting at relatively large theoretical performance improvements on both the CPU and the GPU side.

Xiaomi 15 will boast a satellite connectivity feature, similar to Emergency SOS in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is still unknown how Xiaomi will leverage the feature. The company has a good foundation with its 90W charging tech. It is expected to make its way into the standard Xiaomi 15. Some Xiaomi phones also get 120W charging. So, let’s wait and watch what Xiaomi 15 comes with.

Xiaomi 15 initial launch will be likely for the Chinese market. It has been the case for the company’s flagships for a few years. The price of the upcoming handset is tipped to be between 1200 to 1400 euros.
