NITB to Adopt a New Organizational Structure to Boost Performance
A source has revealed that there is a change in the management structure of the National Information Technology Board (NITB). The board has approved the dissolution of three MP-2 positions in the department. Furthermore, a source has said that NITB, in its last meeting, accorded approval of the proposed organogram with the direction that the role of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be to manage the general cadre of posts.
The board also agreed that the MP scale position would have no role in the new organizational structure and, therefore, be repealed.
The first step would involve the abolishment of three MP-2 positions with immediate effect, and the process of hiring according to the proposed organizational structure would be finalized by the end of June 2024.
Currently, two officials are working on an MP-2 grade position, while one of the positions is vacant in the department. Besides, sources informed that the tenure of one DG NITB will also end in August this year. Sources said that the NITB failed to launch a major project in the last two to three years due to the incompetence of the department.
