Samsung Galaxy S25 Chipset Is Tipped To Boast Added Google AI

Samsung keeps on introducing new Galaxy series every year. All the fans of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24 are now quite keen to see what the Galaxy S25 will bring with it next year. Only a few months have passed since the Galaxy S24 launch and rumors about the upcoming flagship series have conquered the world. The latest rumor about the Samsung Galaxy S25 caught our attention, suggesting that the phone’s chipset might come with added Google AI. According to a tipster, Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 processor – tipped to power some of the Galaxy S25 models will come with a TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) designed by Google.

Now, let’s jump to what a TPU is. It is the part of the chipset that handles AI tasks like the GPU (graphics processing unit) handles visuals. The more AI processing a smartphone can do locally, the faster the experience will be, and the less data needed to be sent off the cloud.

The tech giant, Samsung thinks Google can do the best job when it comes to the chipset component. If these rumors came out to be true, Galaxy AI on board the Galaxy S25 will be even more impressive than it is already, in theory. Now, the question arises whether Samsung will equip its flagship Galaxy S series with its own chipsets or those provided by Qualcomm. It’s always a bit of a guessing game. Isn’t it? If we dig into history, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series was all equipped with Qualcomm processors while the Galaxy S24 models only used Qualcomm CPUs in the US, Canada, and China (except the Ultra).

Samsung Galaxy S25 Chipset Will Come With TPU

Reports claim that the Galaxy S25 models will use Exynos 2500 CPUs exclusively. However, most recent leaks have cast doubt on that. If Qualcomm is considered for the chipsets next year, it raises the question of how Samsung will guarantee there’s no AI performance difference between the Exynos 2500 (plus Google’s TPU) and the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The phone makers are keen to load as much artificial intelligence as possible into their smartphones nowadays. For instance, it’s the fundamental feature of the Google Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro, with their Tensor G3 processors manufactured by Samsung.

It seems that Google and Samsung are quite happy currently to work together on AI features, including the Circle to Search feature available on the latest Samsung and Google phones. We hope to see that extend to the Exynos 2500 chip next year as well. Another significant change rumored for the Galaxy S25 is the screen sizes. The Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra are likely to keep their large displays, while the vanilla Galaxy S25 may get a larger 6.36-inch screen, a jump from the 6.2-inch panel on the Galaxy S24. Samsung seems to listen to its fans as larger phones are more popular these days.
