Samsung Galaxy S25 Design, Specs, Release Date and More

Gadgets, like the latest Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, don’t stay new forever. In less than a year, a newer, faster, and presumably better model will replace it. Rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S25 series are already circulating, so whether you’re interested in the smallest or the most advanced model, here’s what we know so far about its design, specs, release date and more.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Design, Specs, Release Date and More

Design and Specs:

Samsung hasn’t shown much interest in making revolutionary changes to its flagship lineup recently. The Galaxy S24 series doesn’t look very different from the Galaxy S21, so we can expect a similar design for the Galaxy S25. This includes slim display bezels, island-style camera lenses, and flat edges along the sides.

One significant change rumoured for the Galaxy S25 is the screen sizes. While the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra are likely to keep their large displays, the Galaxy S25 might also get a larger 6.36-inch screen, a jump from the 6.2-inch panel on the Galaxy S24. Larger phones are more popular, and this change could be Samsung listening to its fans.

In terms of specs, the Galaxy S25 will likely use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip in the US and Samsung’s Exynos chips elsewhere. Samsung was reportedly working on a new dedicated SoC for the Galaxy S25, but it’s unclear if this will materialize. The phone is expected to have plenty of RAM, storage options, and large batteries. Faster charging speeds, particularly on the smaller S25, could also be a focus.

Software:

Samsung’s AI, Galaxy AI, is expected to continue with the Galaxy S25. One UI 7, based on Android 15, will likely introduce more AI-powered features. Samsung may start charging for these tools after the Galaxy S25 launch. The phone will also receive seven years of OS and security updates, as with its predecessor.

Cameras:

The camera quality on Samsung phones can vary. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has impressive lenses but struggles with motion. Samsung seems intent on reusing the same main sensor from the Galaxy S23 for the Galaxy S25 and S25+. This might disappoint camera enthusiasts, especially with the lack of a 1-inch sensor in the US.

Price and Release Date:

The Galaxy S25 is expected to be priced similarly to its predecessor, with rumours of a potential price hike due to increasing costs from Qualcomm. The release date is uncertain, but the Galaxy S25 could shake things up for Samsung’s lineup and the smartphone industry as a whole.
