Rawalpindi Police Launches “Text to CPO” Service for Complaint Filings

The Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO), Syed Khalid Hamdani, has initiated a new service called ‘Text to CPO’ to directly engage with citizens and address their concerns effectively. This service allows citizens to send direct messages to the CPO via WhatsApp or text messaging using the designated phone number. With a focus on enhancing service delivery and addressing citizens’ grievances promptly, this initiative reflects the commitment of the Rawalpindi police to prioritize public satisfaction and transparency in their operations.

According to a police spokesperson, citizens now have the option to utilize the “Text to CPO” service to directly communicate with the City Police Officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Hamdani. The spokesperson highlighted that CPO Khalid Hamdani initiated this service to provide convenience to citizens and enhance the overall service quality.

The service allows citizens to send direct messages to the CPO at the cell number 0300-4911720. Over the last six months, the police received a total of 1560 complaints from citizens, as per a police spokesperson. Remarkably, more than 99 percent of these complaints were successfully resolved. The spokesperson further noted that 103 cases were registered in response to these complaints, with an additional 14 complaints currently under processing.

Complainants can utilize WhatsApp or text messages to report instances of abuse of civic authority, corruption or bribery, police violence, misconduct, inadequate investigation, delays in filing FIRs, or any other complaints related to police matters. The spokesperson emphasized that complaints would be addressed based on merit, aligning with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Inspector General of Police Punjab. The spokesperson also reiterated the commitment to ensuring the best service delivery for citizens.

The initiation of the “Text to CPO” service by Rawalpindi’s City Police Officer, Syed Khalid Hamdani, marks a significant step towards fostering direct engagement between the police department and the citizens. With a high-resolution rate for complaints received, this initiative demonstrates the police department’s dedication to promptly addressing citizen concerns and improving overall service delivery.
