YouTube Brings Ultra HD Streaming to Meta Quest

In a recent development, the popular video platform YouTube has announced that it now supports streaming at 8K resolution for Meta Quest. Consequently, the YouTube videos streamed via Meta Quest may start to look sharper.

A credible source spotted that version 1.54 of YouTube for Quest now supports streaming 8K video. It is pertinent to mention here that this only works in SDR format, so there’s a big trade-off there, however, it opens the door to sharper quality videos across VR headsets.

However, you may know that there’s not a lot of 8K content on the web and every bit of added resolution on a VR headset provides you with a better experience given how close everything is to your eyes.
