3G/4G Broadband Subscribers in Pakistan Reaches 46 Million
The telecom sector of Pakistan has undergone through huge transformations after the arrival of 3G and 4G services in the country. From the increase in mobile phone penetration to the launch of various m-Services; Pakistan’s telecom sector has become a success story for some regional countries who are left behind in technological race. This is also evident from the recent stats announced by the PTA. 3G/4G Broadband Subscribers in Pakistan Reaches 46 Million.
PTA in their recently announced statistics revealed that there are around 141 million total mobile users in Pakistan with 70.25 cellular mobile tele-density. no Doubt 3G and 4G subscribers are the main contributors to this figure.

Telenor users reached 10.7 million, Ufone 3G users reached 5.4 million, , Jazz 3G users reached 13.64 million and Zong 8.9 million. Telenor witnessed around 9 lack 4G users whereas Jazz and Zong have 1.3 and 4.6 million users respectively.
In a recent report MOITT also revealed that 75 percent of Pakistani population has access to broadband internet. previously Pakistan was lagging behind in adoption of latest technologies and internet. To cater this issue, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has deployed around 91,000 KM fiber Optic in Pakistan.
MOIT has always ensured to provide high internet in Pakistan by taking several steps. Other government organisations are also striving hard to provide internet to people. Such as PTA initiated three rounds spectrum auction for Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) 3G/4G (PTA) to meet ever increasing demand for broadband connectivity since 2014.
