Fast 3G/4G Internet Service Reaches Gilgit-Baltistan

Good News for the residents in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B). Now they can enjoy 3G and 4G internet service. These services are  provided by Special Communication Organization (SCO). Fast 3G/4G Internet Service Reaches Gilgit-Baltistan.

This news was first broke out by Radio Pakistan on Saturday. This news was confirmed by an SCO spokesperson. He said that the internet service will continue on a trial basis and can be accessed free of cost until further notice.

For reader’s information SCO is a public sector telecommunications service provider. Which is established in 1976 by the government. SCO is responsible for developing, operating and maintaining telecom services in G-B as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

SCO spokesperson said the SCO mobile phone SIMs for the provision of 3G/4G are available at the organization’s franchises in the area. Subscribers have been asked not to pay more than Rs200 after acquiring a receipt for purchasing the Sim, reported by Radio Pakistan.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has announced plans in October 2017, of introducing fast-paced information technology services of 3G/4G in AJK and G-B. The launch was expected to be symbolize by February this year.

3G and 4G service arrival in such remote areas will boost commerce, bring socio-economic prosperity for the entire region. Special Communication Organization (SCO) has given the opportunity to the residents of GB to compete with the rest of the world.
