FBR Launches Tajir Module in Tax Asaan App
The digitalization efforts are evident in almost all of the country’s government departments, including the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Lately, the board has activated the new Tajir Dost module of the Tax Asaan App. The new module can easily be used by traders and shopkeepers from their mobile phones.
The new Tajir Dost module is user-friendly, and it is live and active for traders in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
According to the sources, more cities would be added to the scheme. Shopkeepers and traders would be required to apply for registration to get a National Tax Number Certificate via the Tax Asaan App, FBR’s portal, or FBR’s Tax Facilitation Centers by April 30, 2024.
Furthermore, it is pertinent to mention here that the term “shopkeeper” will also cover a wholesaler, dealer, retailer, manufacturer-cum-retailer, importer-cum-retailer, or any other person who integrates the activity of retail and wholesale with any other business activity or other person in the supply chain of goods.
The introduction of the Tajir Dost module in the Tax Asaan App depicts a significant step forward in Pakistan’s digitalization journey, especially in the realm of tax administration. This move by the FBR is indicative of a broader push toward making tax compliance simpler, more accessible, and more efficient for business owners across the country.
