German Flying Taxi Startup Lilium Nabs $90m Investment Boost. Lilium is a German startup based in Silicon Valley and is ambitious to introduce a 5 passenger “Flying Taxi”. The project successfully raised $90 million from top technology investors which made it one of the best funded project till date. This also shows the inclination towards latest technologies like drones etc. This will initiate a new era of flaying taxis.

The startup’s popularity has become viral on internet since yesterday due to its unique idea and business model behind flying taxi. Lilium also raised around $11.4 million last year and has emerged one of the Europe’s famous startup.
Lilium said that:
“The new funding round, led by Chinese internet giant Tencent, is joined by LGT, the largest family-owned investment firm in Europe, based in Liechtenstein; Atomico, a top European venture firm; and Obvious Ventures, whose co-founder, Evan Williams, is a co-founder of Twitter.”

Lilium was founded back in 2015 by 4 young graduates from the “Technical University” of Munich. The five seater aircraft taxi and waiting for regulatory’s approval and will be launched be the end of 2019.
