Huawei Launches Pura 70 Series Globally

Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, and Pura 70 Ultra

Huawei has discreetly introduced its Pura 70 series smartphones to global markets, signaling a fresh start for its flagship range. Comprising the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, and Pura 70 Ultra models, the series boasts upgraded camera setups, refreshed aesthetics, and a brand-new nomenclature. Notably, the Pura 70 Pro+ is absent from the lineup, retaining exclusivity for the Chinese market.

The entire Pura 70 lineup is powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 9010 chipset, fabricated on the 7nm process by SMIC. Although Huawei has not officially disclosed detailed specifications of the chipset, it is anticipated to deliver upgraded CPU performance and advanced AI capabilities. The Pura 70 series, currently available in China, boasts impressive specifications, with a notable focus on their rear camera setups, presented in a distinct triangular island design.

The Huawei Pura 70 model showcases a 50 MP primary camera equipped with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0. Additionally, it features a 12 MP periscope telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera. Meanwhile, the Pura 70 Pro model maintains the 50 MP main camera but enhances the telephoto lens with a 48 MP sensor providing 3.5x optical zoom. Moreover, its ultra-wide camera incorporates a 12.5 MP sensor, ensuring versatile photography capabilities.

At the forefront of the Pura 70 series, the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra stands out with its innovative features. Equipped with a 1-inch sensor and a retractable lens, this device incorporates a pop-up mechanism to optimize light capture while maintaining a sleek design. Its variable aperture, ranging from f/1.6 to f/4.0, ensures exceptional performance in low-light conditions.

Huawei Pura 70 Series Introduces Floor-Level Detection for Easy Tracking

The telephoto camera on the Pura 70 Ultra maintains a 3.5x optical zoom but upgrades to a 50 MP sensor with an f/2.1 aperture and theoretically infinite autofocus capabilities. Additionally, the ultra-wide camera is enhanced with a 40 MP sensor, further extending the device’s photography prowess.

In a departure from the trend of multiple front-facing cameras for facial recognition, all three smartphones in the Pura 70 series feature a single 13 MP selfie camera. Huawei’s decision reflects their belief that users of the Pura series prioritize simplicity and functionality, opting for a streamlined approach to front-facing camera technology.
