PTA Adds Rs 1.707 Trillion in National Exchequer in Four Years
The telecom sector of Pakistan is a success story as it has achieved huge milestones within a short period of time. All credit goes to the mobile companies and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) whose dedicated efforts and services have together made this country to stand proudly among its regional competitors. During the 4 years of span, PTA Adds Rs 1.707 Trillion in National Exchequer in Four Years.
As per the annual reports of PTA, following revenues were added on year basis in Pakistan’s exchequer:
- Rs. 96.484 billion during 2013-14
- Rs. 7.017 billion during 2014-15
- Rs. 34.112 billion were added during the fiscal year of 2015- 16
- Whereas, Rs. 33.127 billion during 2016-17
All these figures have been achieved by ensuring quality services to the customers; which increased from 5 million in 2004 to 139 million till June, 2017. Not only this, currently Pakistan has 42 million 3G/4G users.

The cellular Tele-density rate has also been reached to 70%.
The prominent broadband technologies in the country were mobile broadband 86.5%, DSL 6.7%, EvDO 5.5% and WiMaz 1%. It has deposited more than Rs 370 billion in national exchequer. The $ 2.7 billion were invested by the telecom companies in last two fiscal years.
Additionally, the NGMS auctions in the country added US $965 million FDI into the country with over $ 147.5 million plus markup to be paid in installments during next five years.
