Women empowerment is the most trending topic and concern of today’s age. Empowering women in different fields is picking up a regular norm in Pakistan’s society – which is a great initiative in itself.
On Thursday, 8 March Women-only Pink Taxi Service was launched with an aim to provide a productive platform to the female citizens of Islamabad. This honorable initiative was taken on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Pakistan needs such pro-women campaigns, initiatives and platforms from where they can prove their worth and skills. It is good to see that Government and Ministries are taking part in such women empowerment initiatives. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA and former deputy speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi inaugurated the taxi service for women.
The inauguration was held with a positive aim to bring a positive change in the society specifically for women. Women of Pakistan needs such empowerment to feel appreciated. It is the prime responsibility of the Government, Private Organizations and individuals to acknowledge the efforts and skills of women. It is time to stop discriminating between genders and help each gender grow at an equal and balanced rate in all sectors.
Speaking on the inauguration, Mr. Kundi hoped that, “the women-only Pink Taxi Service will provide comfortable and safe traveling facilities to the women of the twin cities”.
It is now the responsibility of women to take a step ahead and be a part of this great initiative and be a part of women empowerment. This women-only pink taxi service is a getaway for all the women who wants to utilize their skills. Women empowerment is what we all need to support, as men or women both. Let’s hope that this initiative of Pink Taxi goes well for the development of women and the society as a whole.
