Great news for Pakistan’s digital landscape! The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) recently announced a significant step forward: unlocking the 6GHz spectrum band for unlicensed Wi-Fi use. This makes Pakistan the 10th country in Asia Pacific and one of only 60 globally to embrace Wi-Fi 6E technology.

Previously, Wi-Fi in Pakistan operated in two bands: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. These bands, however, are shared with other devices like microwave ovens, Bluetooth speakers, and cordless phones. This congestion often leads to slow speeds and unreliable connections.
