Recently, a new video popped up that hints at the Passcode bypass vulnerability in iOS 12. Jose Rodriguez who had pointed out the iOS glitches in the past posted a new video revealing a new passcode bypass flaw in iOS 12. This flaw can allow hackers to see photos and contacts on a locked iPhones.

However, keep in mind that it is quite complicated. In order to take advantage of this vulnerability, a few steps need to be done.  First of all, the targeted iPhone must be in the hands of the hacker for this attack to work. Secondly, the operation requires the use of the VoiceOver feature. So, that it reads out loud what is appearing on an iPhone’s screen. Furthermore, another phone is required to make a phone call or send a text message to the targeted iPhone. So, the procedure is not that simple as it looks.
So, if you want to protect your iPhone from this whole hack, you need to block access to Siri from the lock screen. In order to do that follow the steps written below:
  • Go to Settings
  • Tap Face ID & Passcode
  •  Under the menu that reads “Allow access when locked,” disable the Siri toggle
  • If you have an iPhone with Touch ID then go to Settings
  • Tap Touch ID & Passcode
  •  Head to the “Allow access when locked menu” and disable the Siri toggle.
This passcode bypass can be done on any iPhone running iOS 12. However, it does not appear as though Apple patched this with the iOS 12.1 beta. So, the tech giant, Apple needs to work on it. Keep your iPhone protected by following the above-mentioned steps until then.
