Pixel 8a new leaks Reveal Design Change & More

We have already seen several rumors regarding the Google Pixel 8a and most recently, a leaker Evan Blass spotted the phone on a US carrier’s website (UScellular). A tutorial of the phone was accidentally uploaded to the US carrier website which swiftly took it down. However, Evan managed to capture a screenshot that showed the Obsidian color variant, along with the previously leaked colors including Porcelain, Bay, and Mint.

Talking about the design, it looks like the Pixel 8a is taking a different approach from the Pixel 7a. As per the leaks, the new phone has curvier edges and comparatively thicker bezels, however, the carrier listing doesn’t show the rear side of the device. However, other leaks hint at a switch from the 7a’s glossy finish to a matte texture.

As per the rumors, the Pixel 8a will be powered by the latest Tensor G3 chipset, however, it will be a lighter version as compared to the one we have seen in the Pixel 8 series. Moreover, the rumors suggest that the device may feature a 6.1-inch OLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Last but not least, the rumors suggest that battery life might also get a boost as compared to the 7a.

It is speculated that the Pixel 8a will be announced at Google I/O on May 14th, and we may see a price increase as compared to the Pixel 7a which was available for $499.
