PTA Announced Legal Action Against DECT 6.0

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), on Tuesday termed the use of Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications Dect 6.0 cordless phones as illegal. These devices work on certain frequency that actually disturbs the smooth working of telecommunication companies.

PTA Bans DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones because of Interference With Other Signals and Operations

 PTA: DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones are ILLEGAL

Pakistan is unfortunately importing DECT 6.0 cordless phones in huge bulks through grey channels as public is unaware of its side effects. For this reason, PTA is trying its best to aware general public through media campaigns and SMS alerts.

PTA Announced Legal Action Against DECT 6.PTA has also uploaded public notices on its official website twice in order to spread the message before taking legal actions against such consumers who are unaware.

PTA also warns all the illegal importers, distributors, sellers and users of DECT 6.0 cordless phones, to refrain from such illegal activity otherwise legal action shall be taken against them through law enforcement agencies including FIA.

How to Check that Your Phone is DECT 6.0:

On top of every cordless phone, it has been written the name “DECT 6.0”, if this is written on your handset then immediately switch your cordless device to legal frequency handset in order to avoid PTA warrants.
