PTA seizes illegal gateway exchange in Lahore
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA: NR3C) Lahore jointly conducted successful raid in Lahore and arrested a person who was running these illegal gateway exchanges.
A press statement stated that illegal voice termination activity was detected at 260-A, BOR Society, Johar Town Lahore and raids were conducted after investigations. Illegal Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) exchanges comprising eight GSM gateways of 16 ports and two gateways of eight ports, SIMs and other equipment was confiscated.
The action is expected to save millions of loss incurred due to illegal termination of voice calls by the exchange.
