TikTok Cracks Down: Over 18.5M Videos Removed in Pakistan

TikTok recently disclosed that it has taken stringent action against over 18.5 million videos in Pakistan. These videos were deleted due to violations of its community guidelines during the final quarter of 2023. Of these, 128,300,584 videos were identified and removed using automated detection technologies. Additionally, 8,038,106 videos were reinstated after undergoing further review.

Remarkably, approximately 95.3% of videos that breached the guidelines were removed within 24 hours of being posted. Globally, the proactive removal rate for the quarter reached an impressive 99.5%. As part of its global initiative to protect younger users, TikTok deleted 19,848,855 accounts suspected of being owned by individuals under the age of 13, as stated in the press release.
