Facebook ‘s New Launch “Facebook Camera”!

Looking for yet another way to share photos on Facebook (FB)? Then you now have a new option to consider courtesy of the company itself, the social giant rolled out its new app for the iPhone and iPod touch, “Facebook Camera”.

We just can’t help but compare this app to Instagram, and it’s pretty obvious FB was working on this copycat well before the $1 billion acquisition went through. Facebook from buying one of its strongest competitors — Instagram. Instagram is a photo based social network. its one of the strongest competitors FB has seen to date.

The Camera app allows you to edit your photos by cropping and rotating them, or adding one of fifteen filters which can be applied to photos, in an interface which is very similar to Instagram, it seems clear that Facebook is chasing the same market as its new tool. Perhaps when (or if) the Instagram deal gets the green light, all of Instagram’s functionality will be integrated into the Facebook app.

The launch comes in the same week that Facebook made its stock market debut, and just a few weeks after Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder, admitted that the company needed to think of new ways to garner profit from mobile users. It’s new Camera app will make “using Facebook photos faster and easier.” According to the company.

The Camera app is available as a free download from the App store. At the moment, it’s only available for iOS devices – it’s not known whether plans are afoot for versions for other operating systems.
