For giving more control to the parents, Facebook has recently launched kids messenger app. Facebook’s Messenger app for Kids gives parents the control over who their kids talk to. Moreover, the app allows Parents to add or delete contacts, and sends them notifications if their children report or block anyone they have been chatting with. Now in latest update, Facebook Messenger Kids App Gets Sleep Mode Parental Control.
In Latest update, Facebook Messenger Kids App Gets Sleep Mode Parental Control
The new feature will allow parents to set designated start and stop times for when the app will go to “sleep”. Kids won’t be unable to use the app during these times.
Parents can use this feature by enabling this feature from their accounts. To activate this feature,
- Go to the Messenger Kids controls in the main Facebook app
- Tap on your child’s name
- Go to “Sleep Mode” in the App Controls section.
When the Messenger Kids app is in Sleep Mode, kids will be unable to send or receive messages or video calls. They also can not use the camera, or receive notifications. If they try to use the app, they’ll see a message telling them that the app is in Sleep Mode and that they should come back later.
With Sleep Mode, parents can try to ensure that their kids are not using Facebook Messenger all night. More parental controls in apps focused on kids are always a good thing, so this Sleep Mode is a welcome addition to Messenger Kids.
