Application Packages usually shows file for unreleased features that are ready to be launched by company. So it seems that Instagram is about to launch audio and video calling within its Direct messaging system.
There were rumors that social media apps are about to launch video calling feature but the picture sharing app refused to comment on it when asked.
The addition of voice and video calling feature to Instagram make it better alternative to Snapchat who launched it video calling in 2014. Last week Instagram launched a feature that lets you Control who Replays Photos, Videos Shared via Instagram Direct.
According to the new update, user who sends a photo or video from the Instagram Direct camera can decide whether recipients can view it once, replay it temporarily or see a permanent thumbnail of it in the chat log. So, the new update give users full control of who can see their photos or videos.
