Light Phone 2 to Replace Smartphones Partially

Though Light Phone 2 is not going to replace completely your smartphone. It is offering you the choice between being fully connected and being partially connected. That is if you are going for outing with your family or friends, then you don’t need all the features of your smartphone. So you can leave your primary phone at home and take out your Light Phone 2 with yourself.

Light Phone 2 is for Those People Who Hate Smartphones

Light Phone 2 features a matte finish e-ink display. That can show text, act as a virtual keyboard for sending messages, show your contacts and alarms and more.

The Light Phone 2 comes with 4G LTE connectivity but still it is not confirmed. The device is expected to come with some other features including directions, ride-sharing specific apps, playlists, weather reports, and voice commands according to the company’s founders, on top of the basic call, messaging, contact book, alarm and auto-reply features.

With all above features plus the larger, device-commanding active display, the Light Phone 2 seems that it is like smartphone or Just a phone. But Light’s creators simply denied it and said that it’s definitely not.

Joe Hollier, an artist, and Kaiwei Tang created the first Light Phone. In 2014, they met at an NYC-based Google incubator. They both invented the an e-ink device Light Phone, that looks like a small Kindle. That Light Phone did only one thing, which was make phone calls. They both produced 10,000 Light Phones and now are working to introduce the Light Phone 2.
