Non-complaint Mobile Phones: Will They Work after 1st December?

PTA has introduced Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) in order to identify and block the smuggled and unregistered mobile phones. Many users have already verified their mobile devices. But some users are not sure about what to do with Non-complaint mobile phones. Whether the non-complaint mobile phones will work after the deadline or not? PTA has now officially announced that All non-complaint mobile phones with active SIM/IMEI will remain operational without service interruption. Non-compliant mobile devices will be paired with the user’s mobile number. However, the deadline to check the unregistered mobile phone is December 1st, 2018.

How to Check the Status of your Mobile Device?

• To check the status of your mobile device dial *#06# on your mobile dial page. As a result, you will get the IMEI number of your device.
• After getting the 15 digit IMEI number, send this number to 8484.

All the mobile device which are active till December 1, 2018, with any Pakistani mobile network will stay in service afterward. Counterfeit mobile devices that are active till December 1, 2018, on any Pakistani Mobile network will be paired with their respective mobile number and will also stay in service afterward. After December 1, 2018, before buying any new or used device, mobile users should verify the device by checking its IMEI number.
