Hey iPhone users, hurry up! upgrade your devices to a new version in case your phone is running on iOS 8. There is no more reason to stay on the older version. However, if you are still running your phone on iOS 8, then keep one thing in your mind that you will not be able to use the WhatsApp after February 1, 2020.
The WhatsApp has confirmed that it will discontinue its services on iOS 8, so users are able to use it only until February 1, 2020. The instant messaging platform suggested that for the best experience, users should upgrade to the latest version of iOS available for their devices.
WhatsApp to Kill its Services on iPhone Models Running iOS 8
“We don’t explicitly restrict the use of jailbroken or unlocked devices. However, because these modifications might affect the functionality of your device, we can’t provide support for devices using modified versions of the iPhone’s operating system,”
Personally, I think what’s the point of staying on the older versions, as users are already missing the new updates and features. And if you are an active user of WhatsApp, then you should definitely upgrade to the latest version in order to enjoy the new feature and avoid to face the troubles.
Furthermore, users of Android versions 2.3.7 and older will no longer be able to create new accounts as well as to reverify their current accounts.
