Pakistan’s Largest Real Estate Portal, Zameen.com, was hacked by a Bangladeshi Hacker namely “Tiger Mate”. “Tiger Mate” claimed that its about time that companies like Zameen.com should start taking their security seriously. Here is a screenshot taken when Zameen.com was hacked
Leaked data included user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, phone numbers and other sensitive information. It is still unclear how much user data was compromised but 600 megabytes of data had already been uploaded by the alleged hacker.
Zameen.com is Pakistan’s leading real estate portal who connect buyers with sellers and owners with renters across the country and raised over $30 Million in funding. It is quickly becoming a central online hub for all things real estate in the country, one that everyone can use with ease and get value out of-be it a university student renting a room or a property investor looking for a new project to buy into.
This is not the first time a major company in Pakistan had its operations disrupted by cyber attackers. Last year, the formerly state-owned Pakistan Telecommunications Corporation’s website was hacked by a hacker named Sultan.
