Blackberry releases BBM app for Android and iOS

BlackBerry starts rolling out the official BBM app for Android and iphone.

BB revealed that around 3 million people have registered to be notified exactly when the app will be available and over the next several hours BBM will be available as a free download in the Google Play market, Apple App Store and select Samsung App Stores.

Users who signed up at BBM.com, will get a head start and should be able to download the app immediately. Those who didn’t sign up may have to wait a few hours before the app becomes available to download on their device.

The company also claimed that the app was downloaded by more than 1.1 million people during its first eight hours of availability.
