BlackBerry announced a few updates to five of its listed apps. BlackBerry Native Apps which got updated includes the DTEK security app, the Privacy Shade which prevents bystanders from gleaning any important information by staring at your phone, calendar, contacts and the power center.

Calendar

The calendar has got the new Month View. Moreover, the users can now see the list of events in a grid view. Quick picker view allows the picking of different dates in the calendar in a refreshed manner. In addition to this, the legacy busyness indicator circle represents 24 hr clock to help with the planning of your busy schedule.

Contacts

Creating a new contact is now even easier. A new contact will prepopulate in the appropriate field of the new contact card if a user cannot find the searched name, email address or a phone number.

DTE

The update has completely redesigned the home screen. A fresh new look to DTEK help to prioritize the most important information. The new DTEK meter shows the overall security health of your phone. It has got notification improvements.

The users can log permissions accesses on an event by event basis without cluttering up the Android notification tray. The users can quickly access all the “Events” directly from the DTEK home screen. Blackberry introduced the concept of unused permissions and DTEK scan. A weekly scan checks the security and privacy health of your BlackBerry.

Privacy Shade

BlackBerry has introduced a new feature in Privacy Shade called Redactor. Redactor allows you to easily remove sensitive content from a display capture.

Power Center

The update brought enhanced power management. In addition to that, the Power Center has now the ability to detect applications using excessive power. Power Center develops knowledge of the user’s typical charging patterns which can adjust the usage of their Berry.
