Facebook Launches its Standalone Events App on Android. In October, Facebook launched its Standalone Events app for iOS users. But now its making its way on Android as well. The app will be available on Google Play soon.

The Facebook Events app benefits you surf nearby events, see the dates of your forthcoming Facebook Events along with imported calendars and sums wall posts and alerts from Events to tidy your central app’s notifications.

According to App Annie, the Events app did not prove to be that prevalent on iOS as it fluctuated between No. 250 and No. 500 on the U.S. social networking apps chart. But immense usage was not the objective.

The Events app is aimed to facilitate Facebook’s socializers and event organizers better discover and manage events. That drops down to a better understanding for everyone else as these users call friends to events using Facebook. You can share the events with your friends even if they don’t have the application installed.

With this feature Facebook can appeal more ad dollars from event sponsors. So lets wait and see when the Events app will go live on Google Play and what response its going to get.
