Google Phone For Android Updated With Filter For Spam Calls
Spam calls are not only annoying and intrusive, they are a massive threat to the privacy of your information, finances, and precious time. So, in order to save your day and prevent spam calls, Google has been testing a new feature that will help Android users to filter spam calls. For this purpose, a filter has been added to the Google Phone For Android that filters spam calls.
Google Phone For Android Update
Google Phones App’s support page has been updated to reflect the new changes. These changes have already been activated on many Android devices. Let’s have a look at that new feature.
Basically, a new feature in the Caller ID & spam menu of the Google Phone app has been introduced. When you will enable that feature, it will prevent suspected spam calls to disturb you. The Google Phone App automatically identifies the spam calls and redirect them to your voicemail. It even doesn’t bother to let you know about the spam calls. So, you are not notified about it but you can still listen to your voicemail if you want to.
While having a discussion on this topic, Google stated on its help page that:
“You’ll still see filtered calls in your call history and be able to check any voicemail you receive.”
The steps required to enable this feature are as follows:
- Go to Settings
- Select Caller ID & spam
- Tap the toggle Filter spam calls option.
You can disable it at any time if you don’t trust that Google’s app can really handle spam calls for you. These features only work for calls that Google can successfully detect. So, simply toggle the filter spam call option in Google Phone App and make your phone free of further spam calls.
