Google+ will Shut Down for Consumers on April 2nd

At the end of the last year, Google has announced that it will shut down Google+ sometime in April. Now Google in a blog post has confirmed that it will shut down Google+ for consumers on April 2nd this year. Google has taken this decision because of the low usage of the app. Also, Google wants to use its resources towards something more important.

Google+ will shut down new account Activation from 4th February

As the Goolge+ will shut down starting from April 2nd. It means users now have time to download all their Google + data. Not only this, but Google has also announced that from February 4, people will not be able to create new Google + profiles, pages, communities, or events. In the coming weeks, you will not be able to sign into websites with Google + and may be replaced with a Google sign in button.

Moreover, for G Suite customers, their Google + account will remain active. Google is only shutting down Google + for consumers, or those who don’t have a paid G Suite account.

On the other hand, Google is continuously improving its other apps including Gmail, Google Duo, and Google Assistant. Now there is good news for Google Assistant lovers, your assistant will soon recognize your face just like it recognizes your voice. Google face authentication system in assistant will complement the voice match system already available.
