GSMA to Host Mobile Money Hackathon in Pakistan

Mobile Money Hackathon Series is hosted by GSMA in Africa, Asia and Latin America from the last two years. Good new for Pakistanis! Mobile Money Hackathon is touching down in Karachi on 7-8 October, 2017. GSMA to Host Mobile Money Hackathon in Pakistan.

The first ever Asia Based Mobile Money Hackathon in Collaboration with Telenor Bank and Jazz Cash and support of Karandaaz Pakistan. Mobile Money Hackathon is aimed at increasing awareness, demand and implementation of mobile money industry API.

GSMA to Host Mobile Money Hackathon in Pakistan

On this event, developer, companies in Paksitan including banks, Start ups and fintech companies will come together. They will be challenged to test and build solutions for harmonized API use cases.

Mr. Ali Sarfraz, CEO of Karandaaz, said:

The GSMA has provided the perfect platform through this Hackathon by creating an enabling environment and bringing together the developers and exposing branch-less banking operators’ APIs to promote a culture of innovation within the DFS arena.”

“JazzCash’s goal from day one has been to bridge the prevalent banking divide in the country. One key part of this is promotion of innovation through working with private partners in the mobile money ecosystem and global bodies like the GSMA. 

The participating teams will innovate and build solutions for either one of the two challenges. The winning team will get two expensive paid tickets to Mobile World Congress 2018. Mobile World Conference is one of the flagship industry event of GSMA.
