Instagram wants to make the shopping experience for its users better so just recently it has launched three new products. Instagram Shopping Feature now let users will be able to shop videos they see in their feed and save them in the “shopping collection”. This will also help It will save a lot of time shopping videos they see in their feed.
The features all point to Instagram creating a more fully formed experience where users can do a large portion of their shopping through the platform, just in time for the holidays this year. The shopping collection in saved posts looks same like an online store. The posts are arranged in neat rows so you can scroll to whatever you had saved in the event that you now want to buy. This can be done through a usual bookmark tool.
Instagram New Shopping Feature Lets Users Shop Through Videos
As the feature is new, only certain posts are considered shopping posts on Instagram. Right now just a few brands have opted into a business page that allows them to sell through their profile. Just recently Instagram had allowed business profiles to tag their stories with products and now it can be done with video posts in their feed.
The business profiles are also going through a slight redesign so all their shoppable posts will be organized using a new shop button. In this way, users will be able to treat their business page as a web store where people have a choice to buy anything they want.
Though Instagram isn’t alone in this, Snapchat is also aggressively pursuing shopping, with shoppable ads in Stories.
