What is HomeKit?
HomeKit is basically a smart home platform powered by Apple. It is designed to provide comfort in various ways to its users. From lighting bulbs to setting thermostats, it can do dozens of your tasks.
What is AirPlay?
Apple’s service named AirPlay permits iOS gadgets to connect with Apple Smart Television. It enables Mirroring, like the screen of your MacBook or iPhone can display on Apple TV. Similarly, its speakers can be used for music streaming.
LG TV (SMART)
Some days back, LG’s support account replied to a tweet that it is possible that after updating, LG TV capable of connecting HomeKit and AirPlay2 will be released today.
LG will deploy its software update to support Apple HomeKit and AirpPlay2. After the installation of updates, iPhone users will be allowed to view photos, pictures, videos from their Apple smart gadgets to LG TV. The working of this Smart TV will be parallel to Apple TV. It must be noted that Samsung has already released Smart TVs connected with Apple AirPlay2.
Required iOS Version
iOS 12.4 is required for integrating LG TV to Apple’s smart gadgets.
After the installation process, HomeKit will use Siri commands like a user can say “Hey! Siri! Switch off the TV please”. Further, the voice commands can do certain activities like turning on the TV, volume up and down, etc.
LG TV Models
This news was announced in March. LG OLED, UHD UM7X, NanoCell SM9X, and NanoCell SM8X television sets will relate to Apple HomeKit. All these ranges from 55 to 77 inches approximately.
The benefits are not only confined to view movies at home peacefully. It also enables to conduct a PowerPoint presentation in a meeting room. Users will be allowed to view Amazon and YouTube video but, unfortunately, it would not beam Netflix shows.
