No more Tax Deduction on Mobile Account Recharge until SC further orders

Finally, a good news for Pakistani mobile users. The mobile companies will now provide full 100 percent credit on every mobile phone recharge until Supreme court announces its final verdict. This news got confirmed on Thursday 28 June 2018. No more mobile tax deduction in Pakistan until any further order, Enjoy!

Resources said that this decision was made a meeting of tax authorities and representatives of mobile services further it was presided over by the attorney general of Pakistan on Thursday.

No more mobile tax deduction in Pakistan

The old 15 days trial period which supreme court announced at the start of June, expired midnight on Friday. The FBR further said that revenue authorities didn’t justify the reason for deducting taxes on every account recharge. So, the companies will not deduct tax because of Supreme court orders.

The FBR will not launch any directives whether or not to deduct tax, now mobile companies had to decide about Supreme court orders. The officials also said the cellular services companies would be answerable before the apex court with regard to the matter, according to sources.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar issued this order regarding mobile tax deduction in Pakistan with three-judge bench. They heard a suo motu case regarding this rapid increases in mobile taxes on prepaid cards.

“Taxes should be taken from users whose mobile phone usage is above the set limit,” Justice Nisar had remarked during the hearing.

This order is valid for next 15 days. Let’s see cellular service providers will be able to justify a tax deduction on mobile recharge or not?
