NTC Unveils its TDM to IP Migration Project
National Telecommunication Corporation NTC has unveiled its migration project which is to convert the core network of its operation to IP-based traffic as opposed to the traditional Tandem Switching currently being used. The program“TDM to IP Migration Project” was initiated today in Islamabad.

Ms. Anusha Rahman, Minister of State for IT & Telecom congratulated NTC Management on the inauguration ceremony. She also appreciated the inauguration of such up-gradation plans to meet the challenging requirements of voice and broadband services for Government Departments.
Initiation of the project in NTC is one of the major achievements that have been attained in the recent years. Due to the role of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in implementation of the Supreme Court ruling against the International Clearing House (ICH) policy, the international traffic via legal means has come to a 1.57 billion minutes per month.
Moreover she also elaborated the recent projects that have been completed and carried out by government. She informed the attendees about the efforts made by Ministry to make Pakistan an ideal location for smart businesses and state-of-the-art technological hub. She emphasized the need of creating an interconnected environment allowing us to build smart urban and rural areas where the issues of accessibility would be negligible.

She said,
“The future is, no doubt, the internet of things.”
She also mentioned policy to address needs and concerns of all concerned parties and foreign investors, would be announced shortly while giving answer to the security concern questions regarding online traffic and data security and e-commerce traffic
