First in the Industry: Oppo Find X7 Series to Offer 5.5G Support

China Mobile has officially launched 5G-Advanced, also known as 5.5G or 5GA. This upgraded networking standard promises enhanced performance and capabilities. Surprisingly, the first smartphones to support this advanced standard are already on the horizon. Pete Lau, Chief Product Officer at Oppo, teased the Oppo Find X7 Ultra, indicating its compatibility with “5GA” displayed on the status bar. This suggests that Oppo is gearing up to introduce devices that capitalize on the benefits of 5G-Advanced technology, offering users an improved mobile experience.

Additionally, the standard Oppo Find X7 is also expected to receive an update for 5.5G connectivity. This development is intriguing because both models, the Find X7 Ultra and the standard Find X7, utilize different chipsets: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Ultra and the Dimensity 9300 for the vanilla variant. Consequently, this positions the Find X7 series as the pioneering smartphone to support 5.5G connectivity, marking a significant advancement in Oppo’s mobile technology.

As the technology gains momentum, the number of compatible devices is anticipated to exceed 20 within the next year. China Mobile’s ambitious rollout strategy aims to extend coverage of the new network to over 300 cities by the end of the current year. Among these, the initial 100 cities will encompass major urban centers such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, indicating a concerted effort to establish widespread accessibility to the advanced 5.5G network infrastructure.

China Mobile has proactively established demonstration areas across the country, providing an opportunity for owners of devices like the Find X7 to experience the network’s impressive capabilities firsthand.
