Around 25000 IT graduates complete their education every year in the country, however, only 5000-6000 graduates get jobs due to a gap in industry and academia linkages.

Under the initiative, IT-related course will also be offered through a web of Virtual University across the country, especially to the youth of far-flung areas.

The Ministry has almost finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Finland University to make an international standard Virtual University.

The Ministry is also mulling to establish IT Regulatory Authority on the pattern of PMDC to regulate IT-related education and introduce a standard for IT graduates and certificates holders.  The arrangement to set up IT Park in the federal capital and Special Technological Zone has been finalized and soon their construction will be started.
