PPP Rejects the Present Cyber Crime Bill & Demands Amendments

As we all know that the long awaited cyber crime bill has already faced many criticisms before becoming a law. And now it is also being condemned after becoming a law. PPP Rejects the Present Cyber Crime Bill & Demands Amendments.

Pakistan People’s Party had submitted 54 revisions in cyber crime bill presented by treasury benches in National Assembly. The amendments were introduced to make it more assimilated, wide-ranging and effective. However the government overrode PPP amendments and approved it.

Cyber crime is the prevalent challenge we are facing in present era said Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Information, Science and Technology Dr.Sikandar Shoro. It is the need of the hour that all shareholders should come together on this profound issue.

He said this while talking as chief guest at a symposium organized by Department of Computer Science University of Karachi and IEEE Karachi section conjointly. The topic of the symposium was Recent Trends in Computer Science at Karachi University Auditorium.

Dr Sikandar further said that PPP provincial government was also trying its level best to regulate the curse of cyber crime in Sindh as early as possible. Information Science and Technology Department is in the course to articulate operational IT policy and IT Board to discourse the matter associated to Information Technology.

IT department is also working on numerous projects in partnership with different universities to sponsor research, Dr.  Sikandar Shoro informed. He called Karachi University to come about with the suggestion. So that real and strong collaboration is made which will be supportive for new generation.
