PTA Received 3000 Complaints for Blasphemous Content on Social Media
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that it has received more than 3000 complaints regarding blasphemous contents on social media sites. An official of the Authority said that PTA Received 3000 Complaints and most of the websites have been blocked. Where as the web pages of social media, such as Facebook, Youtube and dailymotion have also been removed by the respective social media management.

Moreover, the authority also said that there were 1660 websites containing the blasphemous content. The NA body met under the chairmanship of Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Safdar and was attended by MNAs Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmad, Farhana Qamar, Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Shazia Marri, Engineer Dawar Khan Kundi, Syed Ali Raza Abidi and Shahjehan Muneer Mangrio.
PTA also informed the committee that a Facebook delegation will visit Pakistan next month to discuss the issue of blasphemous content on social networking site.
The committee unanimously showed its serious concerns over the issue of blasphemous material posted on social media. Moreover, the committee also asked the Ministry, PTA and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) representatives about the actions taken till date and the progress to mitigate the issues relating to this important subject.
Other than that, if you see any blasphemous material on internet, you can report it to PTA. PTA has introduced way to report such content. PTA also aware people to report such objectionable content by sending messages to all. Here is a screenshot of PTA message:
