For that reason Qualcomm to Acquires NXP Semiconductors for 47 billion USD.  NXP is the biggest supplier of chips used in the automotive industry and Qualcomm is going to acquire her.

NXP makes the type of chips that are commonly used in this growing market. However, Qualcomm basically designed chips for smartphones. If Qualcomm acquire NXP, it will open its ways towards automotive industry as well.
