Snapchat borrows Instagram’s Feature Mention Tagging to Stories
According to TechCrunch Snapchat has confirmed that “We’re testing this” but the company didn’t give more details. However, not everyone is appear to have access to tagging right now, but it seems that soon it will roll out.
Here is how Snapchat @ mention tagging works: Simply type out a username in the text field on your image or video caption in Stories. People will be able to tap on it to bring up a new menu linking to the user info. After that you will be able to directly add them as a friend.
However, there is no autofill feature when you type the “@” sign and that pops up. That’s why you have to remember the username of the person you are looking to tag. And that friend will not apparently get a notification that they have been tagged, so they might remain unaware that they have been added to story by anyone until a of new friend requests is received.
