Sony Xperia 1 V1 is Tipped To Have Wider, Shorter & Thicker Display
The Sony Xperia 1 VI has been in the rumor mill since the beginning of this year. The latest rumor swirling around gives information about the alleged dimensions of the upcoming flagship smartphone. Some previous rumors claimed that the Xperia 1 VI would sport a 19.5:9 display and the supposed measurements seem to back that distinct rumor up. Sony has always offered a 21:9 display on its flagship phones since the first Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 launched in 2019. The recent leak asserts that the company’s next high-end phone will be wider and shorter than its predecessor due to a more conventional screen ratio. The highly anticipated Xperia 1 VI will measure 162 x 74.4 x 8.45mm making it shorter and wider than its predecessors.
Anticipated Sony Xperia 1 V1 Specs
As per the latest rumors, the upcoming handset will measure 162 x 74.4 x 8.45mm. It is 3mm shorter and approximately 3mm wider than the Xperia 1 V, which is 165 x 71 x 8.3mm. Previous renders revealed that Sony would cling to its traditional design with a top and bottom bezel for this upcoming Xperia Phone. The smartphone will boast a 19.4:9 aspect ratio and a 6.49” diagonal. In this way, the display will lose a bit of space vertically (2mm) and will become wider by almost 5mm.
Sony is anticipated to drop its 4K resolution display panel on the upcoming Xperia phone. Rumors suggest the smartphone can drop down to the “2K Plus” resolution panel that was spotted on the Xperia 5 series. The handset is also tipped to boast a “Quad HD Plus” display instead.
Sony is expected to wrap off the Xperia 1 VI in May. The smartphone is tipped to have a variant with more RAM of 16GB, however, the base will remain at 12GB. Xperia 5 VI ( 8GB) and Xperia 10 VI (6/8GB) are also in the pipeline of rumors but there’s no indication whether these two models will be launched in May.
