Travly-A Lahore Based Rickshaw Service Shuts Down its Operations

It was decided that the technology stack for the service will be acquired from Travly’s counterpart in India but the process took months and once we were ready, the asking price of the product was increased manifolds

Mazhar also told that Travly’s chapter is closed long ago however he wanted to invest in similar ride hailing service. However this was also not possible due to limited resources.

However, Shahmir Khan, CEO of Travly said that this closure is due to the absence of technology platform.

While telling about Travly closure, Shahmir said:

We got stuck on legal and compliance issues while acquiring the software from Travly’s counterpart in India

Shahmeer revealed that around 60% of the investment capital was consumed. Talaal Burny, an other co founnder of Travly parted way and joined Careem in 2016.

While telling the reason to switch to Careem, Talal Said:

It was a personal choice. I am going to reveal the reason, even though many might disagree. I come from an educated and religious family. My mother did multiple istakharas and the outcome wasn’t positive. Hence, I had to follow it and respect the decision

Travly started its Rickshaw hailing service in Lahore in 2014. They incubated this startup at Plan9. This startup was later enrolled at PlanX accelerator as well. Faisal Sherjan, media industry veteran decided to take this startup further.
