The ride-hailing service, Careem has introduced its monthly packages, almost a year back for the ease of customers. Careem, as compared to Uber, has high payment prices according to the customers but as far as the service quality is concerned Careem fulfills that criteria perfectly. Its customers are always happy while experiencing it. We thought that Careem Monthly Packages will further help the riders to choose a monthly package for themselves out of some affordable packages but unfortunately Careem Pakistan is Charging More in The name of Monthly Package.
Careem monthly packages will enable riders to purchase kilometers in bulk so that they can never get worry about the “peak factor” or “peak surges”. Additionally, airport surcharges are also waived off in these Careem monthly packages.
This is how Careem Pakistan Charge High From Customers who have opted for Monthly Packages
However being a regular user of Careem, I started noticing that they were charging me high on daily basis without any explanation. As already mentioned Careem Monthly Package allows users to enjoy without fear of peak factor but it seems that there are hidden charges which the company is deducting for some unknown reason. Here is the proof:
Fine, they charged 9 km for 22 mins without peak factor, but what about charging 6 for 21 mins?
Then for the same time span of 21 mins, they charged 7 KM when they don’t even charge for peak times.
Charging 6 KM for 16 minutes:
Now again 6 KM for 22 minutes. DO you think its justice?
The worst thing is that they charged 10 Km for 14 Minutes. These poor calculation show that their app has shortcomings that need to be addressed otherwise their customers will end up paying more.
Above images clearly shows how Careem Pakistan is misleading their customers by telling them that they don’t charge for peak factors. For Careem, these monthly packages strategy is an expansion of their Business model that we expected will definitely take away the criticism of peak fares/surges. However sadly, they still charge us for peak factor in the name of Monthly Packages.
We request Careem to provide their customers with a more clear detail of how and on what basis you are charging them as it is their right.
